Heli Skiing
Spectacular and breathtaking scenery surrounds the Heli ski terrain high in the Andes Mountains. Portillo Heli flies in a Lama helicopter which enables them to land at elevations of up to 14,000 feet/5,000 meters where the snow quality is consistently good to excellent. They fly in six different valleys that are characterized by alpine bowls, couloirs and big mountain faces.

Intermediate Skiing and Snowboarding
Linking trails of varying steepness can be skied and snowboarded by intermediate level skiers across the resort. Catch the El Plateau Chairlift for a morning warm up run for a fast run down the scenic Plateau trail back to the Hotel Portillo Base area. The Juncalillo Run is the longest run at Portillo; it is steep but not too steep that a confident intermediate could not happily ski or snowboard it.

Advance Skiing and Snowboarding
Advanced skiers and snowboarders have endless skiing and snowboarding options at Portillo. Powder bowls, ungroomed runs, off piste tours and runs so steep and avalanche prone areas are available for the daring expert. The Roca Jack and Condor lifts serving steep ungroomed terrain are drag lifts operated by pulley systems pulling five people at once up the slope. They are not hard to master and the steep powder coming down is worth the effort going up.
