Once it was thought that the Adirondack winter was supposed to be endured. But now, due to the advances in technology, we can enjoy it. Ice climbing has been taking popularity in the area. Ice starts to form in mid November and lasts till March.

They 50km Jackrabbit trail runs from Keene to Paul Smiths. It’s a trail that connects 4 ski centers and several back country routes.

It is the largest Cross Country Ski and Snowshoe center in the whole of Lake Placid. They have ski and snowshoe rentals that you can use on the trail that stretches more than 25kms.

A converted ski jump that is 30’ high accelerates riders downhill and onto the frozen Mirror Lake. Depending on weather conditions, riders can go as far as 1000 ft once they reach the frozen lake surface. To ensure safety, only one sled is sent down at a time.
